Last night my husband and I watched the movie Project X. If you haven't seen it, it is about these kids who end up throwing this epic party for their friends 17th birthday. Yep, 17. You guys I was 17, 10 years ago. How crazy is that? I'm old. Anyways at one point in the movie my husband and I looked at one another and I know we were thinking the same thing. We had both been to some epic parties in our lives. The good ol days. Haha.
Honestly I don't miss it. I wouldn't change a thing in my life. Even the stupid nights out. I have absolutely no regrets. But there is something wonderful about being past that point in my life. Something beautiful about growing older.
Our weekend consisted of a good friends 2 year olds birthday party. Instead of drinking games there was a bouncy house. Instead of kegs there was hot apple cider and the best part is there were no hangovers to be had the morning after.
And you know what? It was just perfect. I like this place I'm in. Life is pretty simple these days and that is how it should be.
This made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely feel the same!
ReplyDeleteI have a similar feeling. I enjoy being married and settled down. There is more stability and real, permanent love. Besides, I've found those wild party types to be unreliable - they're only around if they think there will be something they want, such as alcohol.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen Project X.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way...so glad to be at this point in my life (ps...we're the same age!) :-)
i loved project x!!
ReplyDeleteand how nice you can appreciate a peaceful time!
I know exactly what you mean... though I do enjoy a night out every here and there haha
